FinOps platform continuity

Keep your FinOps platform through your CSP transition

Your team spent years building business mappings, chargeback reports, and budgets in your FinOps platform. Moving to CSP billing shouldn't cost you any of it. CSP Continuity keeps the data feed your platform reads alive through the transition — connect it before your billing transfer, validate it against your live data, then execute the CSP transition. Your reports, mappings, and dashboards keep running without a gap.

Works with FinOps platforms that read Microsoft Cost Management exports — including the feeds read by IBM Cloudability, VMware CloudHealth, and Vantage.

The problem nobody warns you about

FinOps platforms connect to Azure through a daily Cost Management export — a scheduled feed of cost detail files that Microsoft writes to your storage account. Your platform reads those files on a schedule and everything downstream depends on them: cost allocation, business mappings, chargeback, budgets, anomaly alerts.

When your billing moves to a Cloud Solution Provider, that export dies with your old billing account, and you can't recreate it. Under CSP, the billing scope belongs to your partner's tenant, so the billing-scope export your platform depends on can no longer be created from yours. Your platform's credential survives, your storage account survives, your configuration survives — but no new files arrive. Every dashboard your finance team relies on goes stale on day one.

This is the objection that stalls CSP transitions. It doesn't have to.

How it works

1

Connect before you transfer

Install CSP Continuity and open the Connectors page. It finds your existing cost export and identifies the platform reading it — or you enter three fields manually. Either way, the billing identifiers that make your platform see one continuous account are captured while they still exist.

2

Validate side by side

CSP Continuity begins producing the same feed from its own collection pipeline, in the same file format your platform already reads. A daily reconciliation compares it against your live export — you watch the delta on screen and transfer only when the numbers agree.

3

Transfer with zero gap

Your billing moves to your CSP partner. The feed's data source follows automatically, and the transition month is delivered as one consistent dataset — no seam, no missing days, no half-month file. Your platform keeps ingesting like nothing happened.

4

Stay watched

An in-tenant monitor checks that the feed is written on schedule and read by your platform on schedule. If either ever stops, you get alerted — inside your tenant, to your address. Nothing is reported to us. Ever.

What keeps working

  • Business mappings and cost allocation rules — the feed carries your pre-transition account identifiers, so your platform sees one continuous account
  • Dashboards, saved reports, and scheduled deliveries
  • Chargeback and showback built on your platform's data
  • Budgets and forecasts, with continuous history across the transition

Two ways to deliver the feed — your choice

New container (recommended)

CSP Continuity writes to storage inside the application's own resource group and you update one setting in your platform — we show the exact values to paste. No new permissions granted to anyone.

Keep your current container

Prefer that nobody touches the platform side at all? Grant the application write access to the one storage account your platform already reads, and the feed continues in place. We cannot read or write any other storage account.

Every optional permission has a manual alternative. Convenience is your choice — we never require access just to make setup faster for us.

Built like everything else we ship

  • All data stays in your Azure tenant — collection, storage, delivery, and alerting. No telemetry to us, not even feed timestamps
  • Read-only access to cost data; every permission explained in plain English with what it cannot do
  • Prefer FOCUS? CSP Continuity also emits the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification for platforms and pipelines that ingest it natively

Get ahead of your transition

The billing identifiers that keep your platform's history continuous can only be captured before your transfer — after that, they're gone. If a CSP move is on your roadmap, connect CSP Continuity first.

Frequently asked questions

Which platforms does this work with?
Any platform that ingests Microsoft Cost Management cost detail exports from Azure storage. IBM Cloudability, VMware CloudHealth, and Vantage all connect to Azure this way. Platforms that ingest FOCUS data are covered by the FOCUS output.
What changes on my platform's side?
At most one setting — the storage path the platform reads from — and we show you the exact values. If you opt to keep your current container, nothing changes at all.
What happens to history from before the transition?
Your platform already holds the history it ingested. CSP Continuity additionally retains the cost data it collects (13 months by default) inside your tenant, so the transition month and everything after is continuous.
What if the vendor changes their ingestion?
You'd be alerted by the in-tenant feed monitor, and the FOCUS fallback path exists for exactly that case — CSP Continuity also emits the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification, so your data has a vendor-neutral path forward no matter what.
Is my cost data shared with Savoy Systems?
No. Collection, storage, the feed, monitoring, and alerts all run inside your tenant. We receive nothing — including telemetry about whether the feed is healthy. Alerts go to you.
